Visible weave isn't decorative — it's structural. Bi-directional CF is woven at 0° and 90°, meaning the fibres run in both directions. Under load, stress distributes across both axes equally instead of along a single axis.
200gsm is the areal weight — grams per square metre. At 200gsm, you get the right balance between structural thickness and weight. Too light and you lose rigidity. Too heavy and the part starts adding bulk you don't want.

Too much resin and you're adding dead weight — the resin-heavy layup is heavier, more brittle at the extremes, and the excess resin doesn't contribute to strength. Too little resin and the fibres aren't properly bound — delamination becomes a real risk.
1:1 is the sweet spot for hand-laid automotive and motorcycle parts. Maximum rigidity, minimum excess. Every Carbyn part is laid up to this standard — not approximated, measured.
50% CF · 50% Resin by WeightNot the hardware store stuff. Not generic laminating resin. Proper aerospace-specification epoxy — the same grade used in racing composites and structural aerospace applications.
The key metric is T/G — glass transition temperature. Low T/G epoxy gets soft in heat, which is a problem on an engine bay part or a fairing sitting in direct sun. Our aerospace epoxy is formulated for high T/G, meaning it stays rigid across the temperature range a motorcycle part actually sees.
It also bonds correctly with CF at the correct ratio — which cheaper resins don't. The resin has to wet out the fibre properly. If it doesn't, you get voids. Voids mean weak spots. We don't ship parts with weak spots.
High T/G · Aerospace spec · Proper wet-outEvery Carbyn part is made from a mold built off an OEM reference part — the actual stock piece from the bike. This isn't CAD modelling or dimension approximation. We physically took the OEM part and built the mold from it.
The result: a carbon part that uses every stock mounting point, slots into the original position, and doesn't need drilling, trimming, or fabrication to install. Bolt-on. That's the only acceptable standard for a fitment-specific part.
This also means every part we list is fitment-tested on the actual bike before it goes on the website. If it says it fits your model year, we've confirmed it on that exact model year.
